This Privacy Policy explains how BunnyNote ("BunnyNote," "we," "us") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the BunnyNote app on Windows, Android, or iOS.

Account information. If you use BunnyNote as a Guest, we only create an anonymous device identifier locally and via Firebase Authentication — no email or personal details are required. If you create a Regular or Premium account (via Google Sign-In or email/password), we collect your email address and the display name/profile info your sign-in provider shares with us.
Vocabulary and learning content. The words, folders, translations, and Grammar Mentor conversations you create in BunnyNote are stored on your device. If cloud sync is enabled for your account, this content is also stored on our servers (Google Cloud Firestore) so it stays available across your devices.
Usage limits. To enforce fair-use limits on AI features, we record how many Grammar Mentor messages and translation words you've used each day/month against your account. These records are counts only — they do not include the text of your messages or translations.
Subscription and billing information. If you subscribe to BunnyNote Premium, our payment processor, Stripe, handles your payment details directly. We never receive or store your card number — we only receive a Stripe customer reference and your subscription status.
Text submitted to AI features. When you use Premium AI features (translation, Grammar Mentor), the text you submit is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate a response. See Section 4 for details.
We do not use your data for advertising, and BunnyNote does not display third-party ads or use third-party analytics/advertising SDKs.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers ("subprocessors") that BunnyNote runs on:
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of BunnyNote or our users.
Premium features send the specific word, phrase, or sentence you submit — along with the instructional context BunnyNote builds around it — to Google's Gemini API to generate a translation or correction. This is a direct, per-request call: our servers do not keep a copy of what was sent beyond a usage count, but the request itself is subject to Google's own Gemini API Terms and data-handling practices, which may vary by API tier and can change — see Google's own documentation for current details.
If your account has cloud sync enabled, any Grammar Mentor conversation you choose to keep is separately saved to your account (see Section 1) so it's available on your other devices, independent of the AI request itself.
Please avoid submitting sensitive personal information (financial details, medical information, government ID numbers, etc.) through the translation or Grammar Mentor features.
Your locally stored data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Synced data is kept on our servers for as long as your account is active. When you delete a word, folder, or chat, it's marked for removal and is fully purged from our servers within 30 days (this delay exists purely so the deletion has time to reach your other devices).
If you delete your BunnyNote account (from the app's Profile settings), we permanently delete your account record, all synced vocabulary/folder/Grammar Mentor data, your usage records, and your authentication record. This cannot be undone. If you have an active Premium subscription, you'll need to cancel it first — see Section 7.
All data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Our database (Firestore) is configured to deny all direct access from apps or browsers — every read and write is routed through authenticated server functions that verify your identity before touching any data. No system is perfectly secure, but BunnyNote's backend is designed so your data is never directly exposed to the internet.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the app:
BunnyNote is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
BunnyNote's servers (Google Cloud/Firebase) run in the United States. If you're using BunnyNote from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
